Being a Scout for many years, I have grown a love for the outdoors to something quite rediculous. I find peace in being surrounded by nature and nothing else. I believe this is where one truely finds oneself, due to the lack of interferences from the built world. I cannot describe how beautiful certain areas are, however I can say that once you there, staring into the sunset at the top of a mountain (for example, Sneeuberg in the Cederberg), the feeling is rather "spiritual." Almost as though you now know your place in this world and you realise that, this is what life is really about. Life doesn't need to be complicated, only simplistic. This you can only realise when your love for the outdoors becomes true and pure, with your only intention to leave footsteps behind, and to keep the memories with you forever.
