An announcement e-mail was recently sent out regarding the 20th Cederberg Senior Scout Adventure, which will take place on the 10/12/2012 to 22/12/2012.  Nigel writes:

The adventure organising committee has started planning for the 2012 adventure. The next adventure will be held in the Cederberg Mountains from 10 December 2012 to 22 December 2012.

Scout Patrols where all Scouts are over the age of 15 but not yet turned 18 on 10 December 2012, qualify to enter. A change for 2012 is that all Adventure Patrol Leaders need to:

• Have completed their First Class and
• Be recommended by their Troop Scouters.

Mountain Rangers may be allocated to any Patrol, as in 2010, but may lead a Patrol which does not have an Adventure Patrol Leader. If you wish to be an Adventure Patrol Leader, please make sure you have your First Class and start planning for this now. Mountain Rangers will not lead a Patrol which has an Adventure Patrol Leader and who therefore meets the above criteria. All Scouts should have at least their Adventurer badge. Scouter Patrols where all adults are over the age of 18 are welcome to enter too.

Online participant and staff entries will be accepted from 1 April 2012 at www.scouting.org.za/adventure. The closing date for participant entries is 31 July 2012.

The cost of attending the 2012 adventure has not yet been set but this will be announced in January 2012 on the website when budgeting has been completed. As a guide only, the 2010 Adventure cost R2400.

Please spread the word, plan your holidays, apply for leave and arrange your finances for 2012.
